1 Vanderbilt's progress is just amazing! And apparently next saturday there's a big concrete pour scheduled.

As neat as it is to see GCT in plain sight, I'm looking forward to having this void, dead smack in the middle of Midtown, filled.

This is cool. Credit to Thomas Koloski for the rendering design.

Not very tall? You have a high standard for height lol.

I admit, that in this boom, given what we've seen, 800 ft is starting to become mid rise height, but 1,550 ft is damn tall. Have you seen 432 Park? Pretty tall, and CPT and Steinway will be taller. Not to mention the AMSL will give them an extra boost when viewing it from low lying areas in NJ or near the waterfront of the rivers.

Remember that its not an official rendering, but a user made rendering. In the end, he tried his best, and thats whats important, plus the effort.

I'll repeat, not an official rendering.

Was checking the CTBUH and based on their list:

In terms of height, NY is approaching a record 1st when it comes to 200m+ structures at 64. Two more, and it will be 66, dethroning Dubai in that category for the number one slot. Per the CTBUH, we are at 786 towers over 100m+. Most in the world. #3 when it comes to super talls, and once the ones u/c finish, we will be at the 2nd slot. Assuming the ones waiting tenants rise, and the ones approved but not u/c yet, we may be #1 in the world in terms of a city with the most super talls.

This boom added a lot to the number, especially 200m+.

What are they doing with those two historic buildings on the left? Restoring them or just protecting the roofs from the construction? I love the roof on the taller building with the scaffolding on it, never seen it before.

^ Well, I wouldn't trust cityrealty. Many projects are missing and renderings tend to be very misleading.

Almost all the renders look like plain massing models all using the same facade glass. So it's open about it's non-accuracy in that regard IMO.

I agree. Cityrealty makes renderings up. Take it with a grain of salt.

They use mass models as renderings. Misleading.

The mass model renderings are feel good though. What may theoretically rise under perfect conditions where everything favors height and super demand. Assuming perfect leasing and market conditions, yeah, we could see something like that.
