Lol, it was no name relation. Foos was related to foosball which I am a pro foosball player. Since it had nothing to do with this forum, I decided it was time for a change.

That's pretty cool - what exactly does a pro foosball player mean? Like you are really good? Or you actually play in something like a sponsored event(s) and make money from it?

I used to be fairly OK at foosball, but you'd likely crush me like I wasn't even playing.

I play on tour. Yep, there's a pro tour for foosball and I'm pretty good too having won states and national championships and stuff. Maybe someday you guys might catch me somewhere at one of the local bars that have a foosball table

The long planned Townhomes between Virginia and Cambridge in the Willow neighborhood finally seems to be moving.

New fence, and signs, some equipment and large dumpsters on site to begin the project.

Noticed some workers measuring stuff out the other day after work.

Glad to hear that it's moving. I checked on it a few times as this was one of my popular lunch walking routes when I worked in Midtown. Thanks for the update!

Lafferty is finally building something. Imperial Apartments at 919 n 20th street. Doesn't look like it will be anything interesting but it's something with his name coming to fruition.

Looks like Orb is the architect. So will get one of their average projects.

Way too small and the location doesn't lend itself to what ORB usually designs for Broadstone. Don't have the time to dig right now but I'm assuming these are rent-controlled apartments.

They are right across from gov. projects, I don’t think too many people would wanna move there unless it’s rent controlled.

What if I told you I'll rent you a brand new two bedroom apartment that's only two miles from downtown for $995/mo?

There would be a line around the block full of people who don't care that they live sandwiched between the freeway and project housing. It's entirely possible this is not subsidized or rent controlled but I have a suspicion that it is.

Maybe so. I just pulled up a quick permit search for the address and the results showed Lafferty and Orb attached to the same project number. Went back to verify and that project number is from 2017 although a new building permit was issued in December. Description states "New 4 story combustible apartment building".

Edit: This appears to be the current development: https://images1.loopnet.com/d2/wKJeb...E/document.pdf

I know news about the Luhrs Building hotel was posted not too long ago, still exciting that it’s happening! Seems the conversion begins this summer when the current Maricopa County tenants vacate.

Battery has a tower crane base in place!

We will be getting yet another Tower crane and the first one south of Washington in ....15 years??

Also Alta Warehouse is officially above ground with some steel supports and wood framing put in place today!

Nope. You guys are forgetting the Luhr's/Spring Hill Suites hotel. That's south of Jefferson on Central. Also, technically all of Block 23 and the Colliers/Hines project are south of Washington, but north of Jefferson.

I read the comment as "that far south." Alta Warehouse and Battery and Summit are not in the general core of downtown afaict.
