The density of the infill is absurd. No room is wasted on green strips or driveways. The lost cause is the street grid which keeps the area from becoming more than just a super dense bedroom community. The commercial on Eglinton would be in a better shape if reskdential didn't have to walk 2 kilometres to go two blocks.

Yes, perhaps my estimate was a bit too ambitious...

However, the SSP database has many of these towers (all 200 metres +) listed to be completed very soon:
The One - 2019
One Yonge - 2019
M & G - 2018!!!
391 Yonge - 2019
33 Gerrard W - 2019
23 Spadina - 2019
160 Front - 2018!!
Union Centre - 2018!!
Bay-Park I - 2018!!
Holt Renfrew - 2017!!!!!!!!
80 Bloor W - 2018!!
1 Eglinton E - 2019
30 Bay - 2019
400 - 2019

Obviously, many of these target dates will not be made...

I use the completion date on proposals as a reminder for when a project has gone stale. A completion date on a proposal is complete guesswork. I don't like doing that.

Strange background there... most of the newish proposals and construction are shown, like the Bay-Park Centre, and 88 Scott, but yet it shows the 2 or 3 year old 10 York proposal (now U/C with a very different profile) back when it was square. I'm really looking forward to the LCBO lands proposal, should be close to or over 200 metres.

What are the projects east of 1 Yonge? I wasn't aware anything tall had been proposed there.

Winnipeg got hit with another proposal, and this view seems to be worth posting. 360 main is supposed to be reclad with glass, and a 40 story tower is supposed to go up beside it.

this one view would look completely different with skycity, parcel 4 highrises, this new tower and a reclad of 360 main.

Winnipeg has the bones, history/culture and demographics to be a great representative and soulful hub city for Canada should it ever go through a growth spurt like what Alberta cities went through the past 20 odd years. If in a distant future Canada shifted its official capital outside Ontario, Winnipeg would be the only city that would make sense from a nation building perspective.
