I don't know if anybody else receives Don Days' development newsletter, but he mentioned a mix-use building under construction out at Harris Ranch/Lucky 13.
Has anyone heard about this project?

for those of you not familiar with the District at Parkcenter project, here's the link to details including renderings and site plan. construction is well underway, with one of the main buildings already up to level 3.

They were working on the concrete pad Friday, and some of the steel is up. It is right next to Lucky 13 on Eckert.

We now have two viticultural area's within our metro.

Idaho Gains New Viticultural Designation
11/25/2015

Eagle, Idaho – The Idaho wine community gained an important new designation with the approval of the Eagle Foothills American Viticultural Area (AVA). An AVA is a federally designated wine grape-growing region distinguishable by distinct geographic features such as climate, soil, elevation and physical features. Conditions and grapes grown within this geographic region cannot be replicated.

The new area encompasses nearly 50,000 acres of land north of Eagle, near the capital city of Boise. Nearly 70 vineyard acres are planted with plans for more than 450 acres to be planted in the near future.

“There is so much opportunity within the Eagle Foothills AVA—it helps establish Idaho as a wine growing destination and gains recognition for Idaho wines as a whole.” said Moya Dolsby, executive director of the Idaho Wine Commission. “Not only does it tightly distinguish where grapes came
from, but it also shows growers we have a region that should be considered. More growth will lead to increased sales and more production of fine Idaho wines.”

That's pretty close to the typical departure path of what will be the 3rd runway. Airport Planning Area: http://pds.cityofboise.org/media/151...eprint_4.1.pdf

couple of tidbits from IBR (there's more in the articles if you have a subscription):

- the parcel B large hotel will be an Embassy Suites.
- the parcel B parking garage sounds like it's getting scaled down dramatically from 9 floors to 3
- the Hyatt Place hotel on Bannock sounds like they'll break ground in the next two weeks

How horribly disappointing, although not completely unexpected.

I can't think of anything in Boise that hasn't gotten scaled down..

I am not surprised. Boise disappoints in the architecture arena.

Next the dull hotel brand will be sided with extremely cheap brown panels..

The Embassy Suites is almost identical to the Salt Lake City hotel in layout and floor count (7).

The down sizing of projects in Boise seems to be on going. A lot of boring rectangular buildings. Of course it's the money, and they sure are not hiring any Frank Lloyd Wrights to design these projects.
Scentsy, Clearwater Analytics, JUMP and The Inn at 500 Capitol at the moment (imo) have some thought in them.
