treefort will be interesting. i've already noticed more people downtown that look lost and disoriented, so i'm presuming they're out-of-towners here for the festivities.

I was downtown tonight before 7 and it was starting to get busy. It's going to be crazy tomorrow and through the weekend.

Thanks FutureNorthEnder. The Silly Birch is a chill type of bar between 5th and 6th Streets.

Five years of communal vibes: Climb into Treefort Music Fest 2016

http://www.examiner.com/article/five...usic-fest-2016

Quote:
In March 2012, I packed into my little red 1999 Saturn sedan with two of my best friends and left Denver for Boise, Idaho. We weren’t in pursuit of the perfect potato, but we were looking forward to hearing an impressive lineup of bands at the first ever Treefort Music Fest (as long as my radiator didn’t crap out).

Treefort has now become a nationally renowned gathering just by maintaining its personable close-knit vibe. It was created for and by the community, despite featuring many mainstream artists. This year, from March 23-27, that community will host more than 400 national and international acts, including Thee Oh Sees and Charles Bradley.

Treefort Music Fest Drops Artist Announcement No. 2

Quote:
Treefort Music Fest has released its second artist announcement, naming 107 bands, including big Boise acts like Built to Spill, Hollow Wood, Thomas Paul, Toy Zoo, The Dirty Moogs, Get Wet +, Dark Swallows and Edmond Dantes. Other locals set to take the stage: CoT rockers Clarke and the Himselfs, LED, Sun Blood Stories and Youth Lagoon.

Ticket prices are currently $159 for a five-day general admission pass. They'll increase again Tuesday, March 1.

The festival runs March 23-27, and is expected to feature more than 400 bands, as well as "forts" for film, literature, food, beer, yoga and computer science.

Boise is fortunate to have a photographer like Sawtooth representing.

And I am still longing for the day a street as vibrant as 8th Street exists in my city!

8th Street would be a sin down there. Within just one block of 8th there are 10 restaurants that serve libations including a few bars. Much more along its span too.
