Sydney: More than a Harbour

Sydney probably has the best harbour in the world, as you can see from these first two photos. But I'm going to try and show in this post that there is a lot more to this city. And also show just how similar a country Australia is to America.

This image will give you an idea of the size of the city.

The main highway in North Sydney, it heads over the Bridge and to the CBD.

Here's part of George Street, one of the main roads in the CBD.

MLC Centre, it is actually the world's tallest reenforced concrete tower. Yep, this building is all concrete no steel.
And, the USA has their consulate is on the top floor!

The inner city is full of this old style terrace housing.

Interesting graffiti on these buildings.

The city has some fantastic architecture! Aurora Palace and Chiefly Tower are my favourites.

Sydney is pretty much Australia's manhattan. It is a much smaller country, and Sydney is like a smaller New York. These are very similar countries and build their cities much the same way as you can see.

Great thread, went to Sydney for the first time in December and was shown around extensively by Morn Best city I've ever been to by far. And great shots of the cbd from up high vinny, those last pics you posted really show off the density.
