The Allure Of Rio De Janeiro

Rio de Janeiro, or simply Rio.

Without a doubt, the most charming city of Brazil.

And for sure, like nowhere else, a city famous for the beauty of its people and also for its rather hedonistic way of living.

Sun, sports, sex, parties.

A bit of Rio.

The Christ statue

Guanabara Bay

Niemeyer Avenue

A classic motel - Motel in Brazil is a type of hotel where you rent a room just to have sex.

Hillside Villas at Niemeyer Avenue

San Conrad

The Peninsula:

Barra Beach

Ipanema

Ipanema is Rio's most charming district. Cafes, restaurants, night clubs, modernist condos, crowded beach...

Flying over the condos of San Conrad. I like the swimming pools on the roof.

People from Rio.

Charming house in Ipanema

An old mansion

Barra Beach

Barra is Rio's newest zone. Is where gated communities, supermarkets, malls, theme parks and condos dominate.

More

San Conrad.

What you see in the first pictures below is Rio's most elitist neighbourhood, San Conrad, with many gated communities and golf courses. However, just behind all that, one can see the city's largest favela, the "Rocinha". I'll show you everything.

Houses above the cliffs. Imagine the views they have.

Beachfront avenue in San Conrad. Nice condos.

What I said about the Rocinha favela

Also next to San Conrad, there's another large favela, the "Vidigal". The white building you see is the Sheraton Rio Hotel & Towers. Yes, just next to a favela there's an expensive hotel.

A two level expressway takes you from Ipanema to Barra Beach.

Condos in Barra Beach

Copacabana Beach

Ipanema. The girls from Ipanema lol

The worldwide famous Ipanema Beach.

Still at Ipanema

Stunning. I don't think that there is a prettier location to have built a city! BTW the vegetation is so similar to Hawaii. I've seen a lot of the same trees and plants in Hawaii (many of which were probably introduced from Brasil).

Rio looks to be a very beautiful city in every picture I have seen. Sure hope I can see it someday in person.

including the PINEAPPLE, which is in fact a plant native from Brazil.

I don't know the exact percentage, but I do Know that it rains a lot there and that's why you see all those tropical forests around the city.
