Why is Boston's skyline perpetually stuck in 1993? It doesn't seem to have changed much at all.

It's probably the height restriction. I'm pretty sure there have actually been quite a lot of new skyscrapers built there over the past ten years, but they generally just don't stand out because they're clustered together with other buildings of similar heights.

This was the top of the skyline in 2015.

This is what has been added since (note the top 5 here average taller than the top 5 above). I feel like most US cities would kill for a stretch like this, but apparently in Boston it improves the skyline by 0.0% .

Agree with this. It's much more impressive when viewed in person, than when photographed. The height restriction over downtown doesn't allow for the new tallest buildings to really separate from the crowd very much. Welcome additions though.

I like how that cuts out one supertall and at least six 800'+ towers and it'd still be the #2 skyline in North America
