Cardiff and Penarth, Wales

A few weeks ago, I walked over 10 miles to see the latest developments and to walk across the Cardiff Bay Barrage which links Cardiff to the neighbouring town of Penarth. Despite living in South Wales for over 11 years I had never been to Penarth before. The views were well worth it.

I rather liked Cardiff when I visited.

I've always wanted to go to Cardiff because of Dr. Who. Looks like a place I would enjoy.

Sadly the Doctor Who Experience closed a couple of years ago. There are still lots of Doctor Who filming locations around though of course.

Cardiff Bay does have a bit of a Baltimore Inner Harbor vibe to it!

The changes in the city are amazing since my visit in '72. Spent 2 days on there when my Navy ship pulled into Portsmouth for a few days. So glad to see the Capital of my forefathers homeland (though my people came from the Swansea area) appears healthy and vibrant. Thanks for the tour!

Yes this waterfront looks like it has a generous amount of striking modern architecture!
