So, although it's difficult sometimes to find a good groundside angle for the true top of this one, I'm 99.9% certain the core is topped-out (and I believe for this one it means the building is topped-out too, as I'm nearly positive there's nothing that goes beyond the top of the core here), and they may even have begun taking down the core formwork yesterday......

So, they hung a large sign in the 3rd floor windows announcing the Latinicity opening this fall......don't have an exact date, but believe it's before the end of October. Also, spoke with someone at the center very recently.......I was surprised at this, but he claimed that work has begun on the AMC space, and they are actually shooting for early December opening............not sure if this is entirely credible, and if so, it is quite aggressive.....but, I have to say that it is at least within the realm of possibility.........one thing I've maintained all along is that you do not want Latinicity to open too long prior to the movie theater.........I would say certainly less than 6 months, and ideally less than 3.......so if they see things the same way, who knows - this could be for real........at any rate, I'll try to keep an eye on permits to see if an AMC build-out permit shows up.......

At the risk of being called a yokel by SamInTheLoop, I'll say that I was also surprised when I noticed that the floorplate seems to run the full 330 feet from State to Dearborn. It's not bad; it's just quite unusual for Chicago, which typically has quarter-block towers.

The one I always wonder about is the Grand Ohio. I've never been in there, but it looks like you could get off the elevator and still be 200 feet from your front door.

Now that the south wall is mostly glassed-up, I'm less disappointed in the design of it. The north face does have a lot more character, but it's nice-looking from all angles now I think.

So construction on the movie theater build-out is definitely underway......got a good look at it this week from higher up in Macy's......

Also, Eater Chicago is reporting that Latinicity will open in Mid-October.

I've yet to hear anything about an opening for the Lawless restaurant at Randolph/Dearborn corner......

This looks pretty amazing. As a latino who works a couple of blocks away from Block37, I'm excited!

It looks more like the vinyl window coverings that would be put up during the build out than anything permanent. Too much copy to be signage.
