The Souvalaki House is still there. And still awesome.

Vegas has it all; height, palm trees, and an IHOP.

Wow, that street in Baltimore was significantly downgraded, and for what?

All those townhomes could have been renovated and sold as a packaged neighborhood. But instead, they decide to destroy the whole thing and erect some cheap new-builds in it's place. Do these people think it's the buildings themselves that prevent residents from moving in? When will we realize that blight itself is not the problem, it is a symptom of the problems.

I'm not sure why there was a tear down. I would guess the interiors of many of those rows had been stripped of copper and probably semi destroyed by neglect and vandalism. Must have been a financial decision.

There are still thousands of empty rows in the city, and I know some rehab and gentrification are helping to keep the old bones alive.

Love the little neighborhood bench on the right side of this dead end street.

Four-Five yr time span and majority of the single family on this stretch of W. Bell was replaced with townhomes.

W. Bell St. - Fourth Ward/Neartown

I used to park there when I would get home late from the Library. Hated living there. Neighbors smoked weed all day and night. Loud music and video game tournaments all day and night. Free ISDN Internet courtesy Rarthlink in 1991. Riding bikes in Shindagin.

I left the neighborhood in '69, and the place was already changing to a hardcore drug culture. It seems heroin was starting to take a foothold back then. Not surprised to hear there were still some partying going on in the 90s. I guess you didn't find enough bike riding challenge on East Hill for you, eh?

Narrow street in Allentown.

At the end of that block, did the Google van interrupt something?

I'm guessing they were trying to figure out who's responsible for mowing the empty lot next door.
