MONTREAL | 750 Peel | 23 FLOORS x2

Latest design for 750 Peel:

Can't wait for some renders.

The design of the TDC 2 towers should be better than the design of the original TDC also... Can't wait for all the renders to come out, should be this month.

I love what Cadillac Fairview is doing in Montreal. So many great projects, plus they had the initiative to design two new office towers in Downtown, this is awesome!

In a few years, CF will have singlehandedly changed the urban form of St-Antoine street between Peel and Mountain, effectively gaining a new skyscraper canyon and enlarging downtown to the bottom of the slope.

This is good news, but I think the area south of St-Antoine is ideal for buildings taller than 120m. I'm tired of this 120m plateau...

Measured from St-Antoine, the Deloitte is 28 storeys and 133 meters tall. That's 4.75m per floor average. I am aware of the 120m, but let's CF clones this height average for the second tower, then in theory, Windsor 2 should reach 143m in height. I always though the specific lot was ideal for say, 200m. But oh well.

Looks like it could be it. Funny you just found it like that google.

It looks like its 120m, and it is located at Peel and St-Antoine, so for now, this is it.

I don't mind it, I just wish it was a 50% taller and not a simple box. Although I would like to see how it looks on Peel rather than St-Antoine/Jean-d'Estrées.

A few years ago, I would have been excited. But it is still good news. I can remember the drought of skyscrapers from 1994-2005.

I think the height is quite okay and I think the glass is going to add some diversity skyline.

It actually says "750 Peel STREET" I think whom ever did that rendering did not know Montreal is French.

A generic glass box, Toronto-style, but without the height. I hope they come up with something more imaginative.

Based on what left coaster has told us on the Canada forum, this one is an old render. I think it's fair to say that Windsor 2 will look quite different.

I hope! 30 office stories should end up taller than 120m if that's what we're getting.

IMO, it would be totally illogical for them to try to go higher than the 120 m allowed south of St-Antoine (meaning public hearings) while building Deloitte at 133 m on land that allowed 200 m.

I expect Windsor 2 to be in the low 20 stories...

In any event, the office market in Montreal is very soft, so I would not hold my breath for this one before many years.

It all depends on the design of the building and the marketing of the project, which Cadillac Fairview seems to succeed at.

For example, 900 de Maisonneuve isn't doing so well while the Deloitte Tower attracted two big companies, Rio Tinto Alcan and Deloitte. The only explanation for that is great design and good marketing.

I am confident about 750 Peel because CF is behind it. I don't doubt their capacity to sell the project.

Perhaps a basic form for the proposed Cadillac Fairview Office Tower on Peel & Saint-Antoine?

Wow, what a terrific image! And though it's probably just a volumetric rendition of the future office tower, I'd be awfully nice if they press ahead with this design. It would beak the relative conservative shapes of its neighbours.

Une source me dit qu'une grosse compagnie veut se relocaliser dans le 750 Peel. On parlerait entre 300 000 p.c et 500 000 p.c .... et non, ce n'est pas Standard Life...

à suivre les boys....
Fingers crossed!
