Photos Show Cladding Nearly Complete on First Roccabella Tower

Quote:
The first Béïque Legault Thuot-designed tower has topped out and the cladding composed of blue curtain wall and brown anodized aluminum panelling has almost reached the top level. Our City Ambassador captured this scene with recent photos which depict some unfilled gaps where balconies and the construction hoist are located.

Love the height but HATE the cladding and even the glass, it's a big disappointment overall. Why oh why could they not have gone with the original renders instead of this puke brown and...I don't even know what colour to call the glass but they don't go together. Every time I see that i cringe

I like the building overall. If anything, I find the height is a bit underwhelming - it should have been at least 10-15 stories taller - being next to 1250 Rene-Levesque and close to the CIBC Tower. I would have also preferred if the tower was flush with the base on the corner of Drummond/Rene-Levesque rather than set back.
I actually do not mind the brown. The windows are definitely not an issue for me either. Much nicer than those on some other buildings.

What an amazing transformation of this area! Does anyone have a shot removed a bit to show the impact on the skyline of this group of towers?

Roccabella Phase Two Beginning to Rise in Downtown Montreal
Quote:
Soon to join fellow twin-tower development, YUL, in what appears to be a streak of twin-tower condo projects currently on the rise in downtown Montreal, progress has been moving along nicely at the site of the Roccabella, a 40-storey, Béïque, Legault, Thuot Architects-designed condo development by MC Finance.
