Walked by yesterday and it looks like the Park Hyatt is either open or prepping for opening - seemed to me like they were doing some sort of staff training. Maybe this happened a while ago and I missed the boat.

Also the verandas on 57th street - one at the Hyatt entrance and one at the residential entrance - are now illuminated.

They should be opening soon. They recently bought their portion of the building (similar to Nordstrom)

Aside from LVMH, Portzamparc has proven incapable of designing anything vertical with dignity and grace. Unfortunately there is no masking of this one.

I like all the perspectives of this building except the north side, facing the park. It's so ugly. Maybe it'll be better when the crown is lit.

I dunno... might have to hand the more attractive views to One57. Being front and center like that with floor to ceiling glass - it's almost like you are in the park.

Definitely two distinctly different types of viewing experiences for the residents with One57 and 432.

Probably a good thing.

I agree, for park views, One57 may have the upper hand. However, 432 Park has the Park Avenue address as well as park views.

Those windows though....the view is amazing, obviously, but those window sashes are directly in the eyeline when the lucky owner or his/her guests are sitting down, wouldn't it have been better to have them upside down compared to the way they are now? Would've given unbroken direct views right across the park. I know, I'm being picky, if anyone wants to donate a few months living there to change my opinion, please feel free

I'd definitely say One57 has the better views, (and through personal opinion is the better building). Nothing beats a dead on view of the park, and at it's height it's perfect.
Whereas future buildings like Nordstrom will have similar views, their penthouses will be at insane heights, so you'll really be looking down at a great vertical at the park. More comfortable eye-level views at One57 at still a great height

IMO the only things 432 park has over One57 is the height, it's insane engineering feat, and it's 4 units per floor maximum thing.

I feel the opposite. To me the north side is the most graceful and strong. The south side seems a bit bulky and literal.

Fair enough. Literal or not, I appreciate the deco flair of the south side and the shape and amazing height of the e/w perspectives.

This to me is just blah (not the great photo). It's an eyesore in my opinion. I don't like it. I can see why you'd call it strong, but I don't get graceful. Talk about bulky (and bland):

A true beauty. Looks almost like a rendering in person. Definitely a wise choice on the cladding; it worked out brilliantly.
