Texas town named most boring city in America

And all the other boring places, too.

I don't know what they did with number 9. It must be really boring if they forgot to put it on a list of boring cities.

Of course this is subjective, and you can find plenty of people who are perfectly happy in these cities. For example, Plano would be found boring by many SSPers since it's a suburb. But for those who value a mid sized city that is low crime, litter is virtually nonexistent, highly affluent, and every lawn is perfect, it would be a good place. It would be boring to me, too, but many people do love the city.

Lubbock was in a "dry" county until 2009 so that is why it has almost no bars.

The problem with these rankings is, unless someone goes through with a fine tooth comb and selects and then weights specific attractions and establishments in each city, they'll be highly skewed. When a city has fewer "coffee shops" and "bars", that may just mean they have fewer Starbucks inside Target stores and fewer TGI Fridays with a liquor license.

This is probably the most accurate "top 10 list" ever posted on here.

I can vouch for all the Texas ones especially Lubbock and Plano...although I think it would be more accurate to switch the two. I went to school in Lubbock and Plano is a godforsaken place; if Hell was on Earth, it'd be called Plano, Texas

Plano has an extremely high standard of living overall and high incomes, and I would venture to say that the vast majority who live there love the place. But I'm sure it's not your kind of place, considering that you said in another post that you're living at Studemont at Washington in Houston (that street location says a lot). Plano is not my kind of place either. Neither is Studemont at Washington (not into the club scene). It's an individual thing.

Lubbock County is a fantastic area for oil jobs. Might be boring according to the list, but it sure pays to live their job wise.

Another pointless list that means very little.

How is North Las Vegas a boring city? One could literally do anything 24/7, not to mention how close natural recreation is (Lake Meade, mountains).

Are we saying that Vegas is one of the most exciting and one crosses an imaginary line and enters the most boring city?

The Vegas metro is far from boring. Sure, like many other cities, there are neighborhoods that may lack in excitement, but Vegas is still leagues away then some West Texas town/city for example in terms of entertainment, and social venues.

You might want to research North Las Vegas. Better yet, visit and see what you think.

no fan of Plano, but to list it or Irving is ridiculous. I'm guessing age is what hurts them both as they both have large areas of wealth.

Yes, I agree. These are towns that are remote, spread out and just decentralized.

I've actually been there. A resident of NLV enjoys all of the entertainment options as a resident of LV. That's all.
