OMFG!

Awesome thread. First time going through it! Please post more pictures. You show some nice areas of Dubai and your photographs are astounding. So are your panoramas. Too many are good to list in my post.

A restaurant building. Looks like the floors rotate but I can't seem to find information that says so. But I did find this info from the EMAAR website:

Quote:
A key attraction of The Dubai Marina Mall is the 7-storey Gourmet Tower, a revolutionary concept dedicated to world-class cuisine. Accessible only by a direct bridge via the mall, the Gourmet Tower will be an exquisite waterfront dining experience. For a more casual atmosphere, the mall’s expansive waterfront promenade invites shoppers and visitors to sit, eat and enjoy the marina views from a wide range of the Dubai Marina Mall’s al fresco restaurants and cafés.
It still doesn't say if the floors rotate. It'd be cool if they did though.

wow - those are incredible photos - absolutely amazing, by the far the best pics I've ever seen of Dubai...

never sure what I think of Dubai - looks like something out of a sci-fi movie, nightmarish and sublime at the same time.

I read somewhere that with the credit crunch and global recession things are looking bleak in Dubai... after so much over development and rampant, unsustainable expansion property prices set to plummet... I suspect there will be a lot of unfinished and empty towers very soon...

Fantastic thread, incredible shots and fascinating structures. Hopefully they will all be put to use with minimal vacancy. Thanks for the tour and would love to see where the common folk live, historic neighborhoods.

I doubt anybody lives in the historic part (which is quite a small area around the creek) nowadays. The oldest parts that are still inhabited by people are no older than 45 - 50 years old only. So many threads over on SSCs UAE subforum Denverazec

DD you out do yourself again ! and im liking that casual seating area on some roof

Pretty freakin' amazing! Can't beat these pics. Some of the best pictures of Dubai in pretty much SSP history. And they don't just try to focus on the "cheap parts" of Dubai. I don't mean location -wise, but that they don't try to prove that most of these building are cheap. Because they certainly don't look like it in your pictures.

Btw, the Address is pretty much amazing! One of the best tropical looking residential towers. But I think it needs more greenery on it's base. Cascading plants would look amazing on the setbacks of the base. Sometimes it seems like the Address is a cruise but when I imagine it with lots of plants at its base it looks more like a small island.

You're right, this I usually very much neglect, since I focus on posting pics of the new developments here on SSP and over at SSC. Nonetheless, I take many pics at other places as well, here are some from the creek and the surrounding souks
