Cool pic. I think I recognize the higher mountain to the left as Mount Marcy and the one on the right (closer) as Algonquin Mountain in the High Peaks region of the Adirondacks.

Some of those remind me of the hills around L.A. and Frisco. I admit that I was ignorant about N.Y. and Jersey having hills like that. Thanks for sharing these.

I believe this is Breakneck Ridge. I've done this hike before. You can actually take MetroNorth to the Appalachian Trail.

I think for most people outside of the area, there is a surprising amount of natural resources around the city.

ESB looks especially massive from that distance.

These are my favorite kind of skyline pics, where you can just make out a city's silhouette from a distance. Do we have any threads dedicated to shots of this sort on the forum?
