Those concerts get so packed with bikes. I've seen people put them up in trees and chain them up there, or hang them over the fence. It's crazy.
I used to do Thursday Night Social Ride (TNSR). It would usually be a competition at bar stops downtown (Red River had some good spots) to see how high up a bike could get locked to something.

SXSW 2011 I remember chaining my bike up on the old window bars in this street view when trying to get to a SXSW volunteer shift. I figured it was safer than the gas meter. Got some funny looks...

That's kind of awesome. Eccentric improvised pragmatism. It seems like locking it to something high enough to be visible over a crowd would provide added security, because a thief would have to be very public about their shenanigans. Nice.

Check this out. I think it's only a concept so far, but this is very cool.

That's genius, but I bet it would be banned by some sort of city ordinance, and if an existing ordinance isn't sufficient to cover it then a new one would be passed. Just a hunch.

The clouds yesterday afternoon were gorgeous. I wanted to go to St. Ed's to take some pics, but I didn't have time. Luckily Christopher Sherman at OverAustin.com did. I love this.

That is one of the best photographs of the Austin skyline I've ever seen.

Yeah the sky and the lighting yesterday was amazing. I also wanted to ride downtown to get some pics but wasn't up to messing with SXSW traffic. I did manage to get a shot of the century plant in my front yard.

I love Century plants in bloom like that. They end up looking like a tree in some Dr. Seuss forest.

KXAN featured that photo on their weather report tonight. It is exceptional.

Here's a link to a relatively lame promo video for the 2015 Austin race from the Formula 1 website. But it does have a cool albeit brief flyover of Downtown at the beginning. From a quick glance it looks like this was taken in December based on the construction progress of some of the buildings.

This has to be the best photo I've ever seen of the UT Tower.

This was was posted in the Detroit compilation thread. It happens to show one of the moonlight towers. The city of Detroit sold 31 of their used towers to Austin in 1894.

^ If only our 6-story VMUs had that quality facade and character (not necessarily that style).
