Art is up (as posted), base has been concreted in. Plaque stand is installed, plaque on it's way today.

Oversight was bike racks, which became obvious at last Saturday's event. The city has them on order now.

Event tomorrow could see 200-300 people. 120 members of Alex Decoteau's family, dignitaries, community, etc. Fingers crossed I don't screw up any of the protocol or names.

All are welcome, starts at 11am and the program is about 35 minutes long.

^^That piece is by one of my favourite artists.

Art is part of the 1% for art policy. It is was chosen but a committee which included city officials, artists, community members and Alex Decoteau's great niece Izola Mottershead, chosen out of 49 applications. I love the piece.

I quite like most of the public art that is chosen.

It's how they're sited that usually bugs me.

Not this case though, very well sited.

I like the piece, though I find it too cramped on the NW side to get a full view of it.

^nice park. Sad at the lack of shade though. No way those trees get big enough to provide shade in summer.
