It was a hot hazy day in Kelowna.
Nice Kelowna photos. Bernard Ave sure has matured since I lived there. The house we rented at Lawrence and Richter is still there suprisingly. It wasn't very nice but an easy stumble back from Sgt. O's at 2am. Good times

I've never heard of Ellis Parc. It looks pretty well-suited for the area.

Their current location was so cramped so it'll be good for them to get some breathing room.

Exciting times for what is slowly become the entertainment district of Kelowna. I hope the residents of these towers won't oppose noise although there's little they can really do.

It's been interesting! Did you find it harder to white balance or did you just go with the flow?
I alternated between the pre-set white balances for sunshine and cloudy, besides that I always do some colour correction in post (hence it takes me forever to post pics).

Interesting article on KelownaNow about the future of the market in Kelowna. The full report is worth a read.

Quote:
Real estate experts gaze in Kelowna’s ‘Crystal Ball’ of future development

...

According to multiple experts, Kelowna's real estate development market is booming and will continue to do so.

“I am convinced Kelowna in the next 10 years will experience a stronger and faster growth pattern than I have experienced in any of the past 5 decades I have been in business here in the city,” said Al Stober, President of Al Stober Construction Ltd.

...

New high-density developments such as Ella, One Water Street and Cambridge House are continuing to be approved by City Council with the desire to provide enough housing units to a growing city.

The developments coming to downtown Kelowna are focused on greatly increasing the density of homes in the downtown core, which means they will be building way up.

...

"We as a team are very excited to be a part of a community that is growing and transitioning the way Kelowna is. While none of us can predict the immediate future, based on expert opinion it feels like the valley is headed in a very positive direction," said Marshall McAnerney of HM Commercial Group.

"Between lifestyle, job creation, cultural vibrancy... we really love living in the Okanagan.

Craft beer is opening in kelowna in the old paramount location according to retail insider

Quote:
Another location is planned for Kelowna, B.C., as the company took over a heritage building there - the old Paramount Theatre - a block off the waterfront and it will open in the spring of 2018. It features a rooftop patio overlooking Okanagan Lake.

“We’re looking at opening one a year basically,” says L’Heureux.

Not a fan of the food at Craft at all but great beer selection and they'll turn the old theatre into a nice space. A nice venue for downtown Kelowna.

Is the old Woolworths still there ? Seems like every smaller centre in the BC interior is cursed with an old abandoned Woolworths building

And apparently they've already sold over 160 of the 220 units. Better than expected. The condo market in Kelowna seems strong, which bodes well for actually seeing all of the current proposals come to fruition.

The Ella tower went on sale on Wednesday and over two thirds of the condos are already sold (according to Global.) Very exciting news for Kelowna!

Wow. That's great news. Ella is the most exciting, I think; awesome location, a decent-looking tower with retail at the base, and another surface parking lot in downtown gone

I guess we'll be seeing two new towers rising in downtown in the near future. Nice!

Pretty sizeable development for the West side. Good to see some development over there that isn't awful suburban strip mall.

Just south of Dockside, nice location in the heart of BC wine country. Those'll be some expensive properties

Way out of scale compared to what's in the area now though

Yeah especially considering that it's growing taller than Victoria .

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong..
