I love reading back a few years at all the people claiming it wouldn't happen. And here we are and actually getting taller.
I like the building. It's simple. You don't want some over the top glitter bucket in the desert. You want glass. And this has both. The Burj is cool. But to many facets. Looks like the Sears tower on roids.
This same building in any other country wouldn't fit in either. You need the open desert.
Now only of we could do the same in Canada with our massive oil reserves lol.
I see at ground level it looks like a concrete pad that is 15' tall then the lobby level above that. The next floors have blue vertical steel. I guess supporting formwork? Or are those steel building columns?
Those structural elements are very different from what seems to accompany the typical Chinese supertall, which is a core that gets chased by the framing. It must be a function of the triskelion shape of this building.

I'm fairly confident the blue steel you see is just scaffolding. You can just see the plywood concrete forms beyond them below the ~2 stories of rebar. I belive the plan follows standard conventions; reinforced concrete core with outer steel columns. The ground level steel columns are going to be massive.

what you see being built right now is only the core I believe.
