Kampala, Uganda

I was very inspired by the movie The Last King of Scotland and wanted to post some pictures of the city it took place in. All of these pictures are from http://www.pbase.com/bmcmorrow/kampala and are taken by Brian J. McMorrow.

Kampala is the capital city of Uganda with a population of around 1.3 million people. It is the largest city in Uganda which is surprising because Uganda has a population of around 28 million. Enjoy these photos and go see the movie!

WTF?

Did Hitler make it all the way down to Uganda?

Or is it part of a Hindu temple?

Given that the symbol isn't tilted, and given that looks to be a carving of Shiva in the background, I think it's safe to bet that this is in front of a Hindu temple.

It looks like a vibrant city. But, you're right, for as populous and dense as the country is, you'd expect a larger city, and a more urban population.

Thanks for the passing on the find. I used to travel a fair bit to Africa and rather miss it.

It was, however, a trip through a Tanzanian butchery that turned me to vegetarianism.

Are there still any Southeast Asians in Uganda? Did any return after the expulsion by Idi Amin?
