Weifang skyline now and then...compare and contrast...Foroldtimesake Subject

Weifang is the fourth (some say fifth) largest city in Shandong Province, China. Many of the Chinese people won't even know the city's location without the province name followed. The city was a mid-small city and now is a midsized metro. The precious thing which distinguishes Weifang from other Sino cities is that it has an appointed downtown area and a measurable downtown skyline. Especially in the early 2000s, there were a few business high rises in the CBD while surrounded by low residential buildings spreading out in the rest of the city. The downtown skyline in early 2000s was harmonious and attractive as of a mid-small city.

The city is 50km away from the sea. Unlike other open-minded and quick-developing seaside cities, it still has conservative feature, which especially being embodied in the process of city development. It is said there is height restriction for buildings and never understand why. The skyline in 2014 obviously shows so.

↑ Weifang downtown skyline around 2002. Better than nowadays. A measurable skyline with high rises and low buildings in perfect harmony. -Foroldtimesake Subject
