Wow I want to go up there so bad

Hopefully someday we can look down on NYC from a 1700+ foot rooftop.

Also am I the only one who's not a fan of this building from the tapered angle but absolutely love it from every other?

Is the spire only being lit in white because they're waiting until the building officially opens to debut the permanent lighting scheme?

I ask this because it remained white even for holidays such as Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day and Easter.

Short video I made this morning from the Cross Bay Bridge in Queens, here (off topic) we also see how 432 Park Avenue looks like from this distance from Manhattan.

The observation levels are very transparent in that photo! It will be cool when open to be able to see the little stick figures up and about up there.

Sorry to be that guy, but it's about time. It seems like it's taking forever to finish glassing where the external lift is (or was). Does that mean they're finishing each interior floor from the top down, and when they're satisfied they shorten the lift by one floor? Not sure I understand why it's taking so long.

I'll try and shoot a better/zoomier photograph sometime - last nights sunset shone completely through the building and the observation deck looked completely free of glass.

Note 400 Park Ave in NoMad, and where 227 Cherry will stick out in LES (a lot). From Midtown, 227 Cherry may be connecting the skylines of DoMa and DoBro (and Do JC across the Hudson).

As of April 27th, 2014...

I was in Tokyo two weeks ago.

Among other activities, I could admire the Skytree (634 meters high) and even visited the observatory decks.

What I wanted to say, in comparison with 1WTC, is that: although the Skytree is not a skyscraper, just a telecommunication tower, it has such a unique structure, that it can even look like a skyscraper when it's seen from far away.
Moreover the spire of Skytree is much more thick than the toothpick on 1WTC. That's why I had fun to imagine 1WTC with... the spire of Skytree (on Google Sketchup)

Please let me know what you think about it

By the way, the spire of Skytree is almost the exact same height of 1WTC's spire: it's around 130 meters tall.

It was stated not that long ago that the lighting scheme should be complete in a few months.

Gotham at its finest! I love how Brooklyn seems to expand Downtown and make it even wider from aerials such as the ones above. With that in mind, in the aerials above, Extell's 227/8 Cherry Street is really going to stick out when its finished.
