The official building permits have One Manhattan West at 1,004 ft., so that's the correct number (unless there are future revisions to the permits).

That area in Shenzhen though will be all city in a couple of years. That massive dirt lot looks like the site of the planned Longgang City.

A better approximation which includes u/c and if the current proposals go through is this:

^ I know that my example was pretty extreme and somehow unfair. Unfortunately many of those megatall projects in Shenzhen won't be built due to height restrictions and other problems. But that is another topic.
