are there renderings of the final design? i'm still not sure what it's supposed to look like as they keep changing it. hope they have a better design than the last set of changes they made.

really? it looks pretty conventional to me. and they really need to clean up the area, change those old street lights and poles and the dirty concrete divider. graphic design and install more attractive signage, plant more trees.

i think these are the latest and final renderings of the complex. it's in archasia's (now populous) website. i'm not crazy about those circular cutouts and the molten glass cladding around all the trees behind it. it looks peculiar.

I just realized where Taipei Dome is located... my grand parents used to live in the Taiwan Alcohol & Tobacco Monopoly Bureau housing complex on this site. It was a very depressing looking (and shoddily constructed) series of 6 story concrete block buildings.

Taipei Dome's building contract to be altered: city spokesman

2015/01/21 23:23:31

Taipei, Jan. 21 (CNA) The building contract of the Taipei Dome, a multi-use stadium under construction, will be altered through negotiations, Lin Ho-ming (林鶴明), a spokesman for the Taipei City government, said Wednesday.

Lin said that Mayor Ko Wen-je (柯文哲) and Chao Teng-hsiung ( 趙藤雄), chairman of the Farglory Dome, after an one-hour meeting at the city hall Wednesday night, agreed to change parts of the contract signed by Farglory and the city government under Ko's predecessor Hau Lung-bin (郝龍斌).

Farglory Dome said in a statement issued after the meeting that the mayor promised to do its utmost to help the builder while Farglory promised to complete the stadium before the end of the year.

Regarding the technical issues, including the design of a underground passage linking the dome and the nearby Dr. Sun Yet-sen Memorial Hall and the relocation of street trees for that passage, they will be resolved through negotiations between the two parties, said the Farglory Dome.

The meeting was held after the mayor and Chao exchanged barbs in the media over Ko's proposal to change the design of the passage.
