Very good, except for the color. I think silver would suit it. The brownish-gold gives it kind of a 70's look. 2nd design, not so good. Looks like it went through a malfunctioning pencil sharpener

I love when people say things like this...

PLEASE, humor us...show us a picture of another tower in the world that is BUILT and looks anything like this. (if you are referencing Hearst, then you neglect that alot of architects use towers as structural and sculptural explorations, so this may just be taking Hearst to the next level...nothing wrong with that)

That is definitely caisson work, the question is though, which tower design is being built?

Sooner or later a billboard should pop up on-site, right?

The first one looks like something from sim city 3K.

The renderings for Foster's design make it look clunky and inelegant, but I think it'd look great in real life. Especially from the base.

Decided to move this. If we find out those piles aren't for the tower then I'll move it back to proposals

Several designs by Helmut Jahn in the 80s are very similar to this one. But none of them were actually built.
Philly's 1 Liberty place comes close.

I wasn't referring to the final gold design, I was referring to the Foster variant that was shown here and referred to by Patrick as 'been there, done that' which it clearly isn't.

But yes, the final design isn't unlike proposals seen before (most notably from Jahn).
