That's Butler Park and Auditorium Shores. I like to think of them as Austin's front yard. Zilker Park west of downtown would have to be our backyard then. I wouldn't trade those spaces for anything.

Yeah, I wasn't suggesting anything be done to them. It's great to have that parkland right in the very center of the city.

As someone who lived in Austin in the mid-to-late 70s, the new skyline is VERY impressive. As a Houstonian, however, it's a little less impressive when considering the fact that of the 30 or so tall(ish) buildings built in the last 15 years, all but 4 are residential or hotel.
