Truly remarkable, hard to wrap my head around the fact that this is reality, looks like total fantasy

Austin's Domain area in North Austin as seen from 20 miles away in Elgin, Texas in Bastrop County. This is one of three views you can see Austin's skyline from in three neighboring counties. The Domain is Austin's "2nd downtown" though I don't think of it that way. But it is getting some decent height now with upzoning there. The tall tower in the photo is Domain Tower II, and it is 306 feet with 24 floors. Taller buildings are planned with heights allowed up to 360 feet. These are the first 300 footers in Austin outside of downtown and the UT Campus area and there will eventually be around 30 high rises up there.

Across two lakes

Center Rd, Chautauqua County, NY. You can see Buffalo, Niagara Falls, Ontario and Toronto (75 miles across two lakes). Between the towns of Arkright and Sheridan.

This shot posted in the one chicago thread deserves to be cross-posted over here.

A very recent "across the lake" shot from Indiana dunes state park.

Nice! Interesting how Willis still dominates in Chicago, whereas Empire no longer does in NYC.

^ nice shot! We live roughly a 1/2 mile SE of that athletic field.

The park on the opposite side of the river is River Park, where our local park district outdoor pool is (obscured by trees).

Chicago's skyline is like the Mona Lisa of skylines. So many different ways to interpret it, so many stories, and very desirable. They should of put a picture of the skyline on the Voyager probe, so that if aliens ever see it, they will add it to their research. Possibly will love it! Or they could just turn around and use the location as a staging ground for their eradication and harvesting of people. It's all fair game, but point is, Chicago is history and a testament to the Homo sapien experience.

That is a great shot!

I tried taking photos of that skyline from the Dunes as well but it was in the summer plus I only had a 70-200mm lens. That one above was taken with a 200-500mm (on a crop sensor so effectively 300-750mm) on a cold day (less haze).
