Dufferin street was Sherbrooke's main street at the beginning of the 19th century. On that picture, you can see (from right to left) the former headquarters of an insurance company, the old post office as well as a former bank. In the background (on the other side of the river), the city hall and the cathedral can be seen.

Just in front of the mural that can be seen in the previous pictures, a small park has been built where there used to be a plain concrete slab.

I love that building! Both the design and materials seem really appealing but before I can get really enthusiastic, I'd need to get a better look at its setting. There's no architecture that's attractive enough to fix things like a poor street interface and ugly surface parking.

A few of Regina... I don't think it's made an appearance in this thread yet... at least I don't remember it being here (and I'm too lazy to do a simple search right now )


Construction is wrapping up on an office tower in what has grown to be the best little "canyon" scene in Regina. Lot's of new street-level retail spaces too. Now for trees to be reintroduced...
