Looks like some significant concrete pours have been done, and it almost looks like the first floorplate for the underground parking is being poured.

Nashville and Austin probably have roughly the same amount of construction going on overall, but I gotta say, the overall design quality, and aesthetic beauty, and HEIGHT of your high rises leaves this former Nashvillian feeling very ENVIOUS. haha... cheers Austin! Looking good! Those two towers in the above rendering are stunning!

Even the Austin posters seem to have moved on to other projects.

It does seem like there should be more chatter in this thread around this project.

I mean, not including projects that are already topped-out, there are only 7 skyscraper projects over 800' actively going skyward in the nation right now - 3 in NYC, 2 in Chicago, 1 in Miami, and this one in Austin. Outside of NYC & Chicago, 800+ footers are fairly rare in the US.

This tower is kind of a big deal.

Anyway, thanks for the updates.

I wouldn't say 800' is that rare outside NY or Chi but it's rare for them to be U/C at any given time.

There are at least a dozen buildings (or two?) that high outside of those cities just off the top of my head. Most were built a while ago though.

But yea this is big news, I feel like Seattle's newest 800+ was kind of ignored too.

i don't want to take this too far off topic, but nearly 70% of the 800+ footers in the US are in either NYC or chicago, so IMO, that does make them relatively rare outside of those two cities.

US 800+ Foot Skyscrapers:

NYC: 39 + 3 U/C = 42*
Chicago: 17 + 2 U/C = 19
Philly: 4
LA: 3
SF: 3
Atlanta: 3
Houston: 3
Seattle: 2
Dallas: 2
Miami: 1 + 1 U/C = 2
Cleveland: 1
Charlotte: 1
Oklahoma City: 1
Pittsburgh: 1
Austin: 0 + 1 U/C = 1

(*) includes 1 800+ footer over in Jersey City

The Texas skyscraper enthusiast community seems to be spread out across various platforms, so I guess any perceived lack of hype is just a smaller chunk of that community being active here. Lots is going up between Dallas, Austin, Houston and the rest.

Right, proportionally. This list still shows 25 800+ buildings even outside of NY or Chi. Compared to most countries the US still has a considerable amount of 800+ buildings even outside of the big two, which is what I meant. Given that NY and Chicago are two of the most skyscraper studded cities on the planet they obviously throw off the numbers.
