Whatever is wrong with San Francisco being the San Francisco of San Francisco? Or for that matter, Los Angeles being the Los Angeles of Los Angeles?

I ask this question repeatedly because so many of the discussions turn into worthless pissing matches: Is [your city] being the best [your city] it can be?

If the answer is yes, then what's the big fucking problem!?

And no, I'm not drunk or high. Just your average American idiot.

Thanks for your response. I almost hijacked the thread (had to post some skyline pics to neutralize that fact), but this was good dialogue.

When was this taken? It looks like yesterday's sunset. I can't follow your link to find out who took it or when.

Just keeping the conversation honest. 500 ft may not be infill in Miami, but your blanket statement wasn't accurate either.

I wish that white building on the right were like 50% taller, it looks like it should be a centrepiece.

That conversation that you were "keeping honest" was specifically about Miami. It was not a "blanket statement".

Sunny Isles Beach

You don't have to live in one of these giant condos to go the beach here. Condo owners only own the lot the individual condo is on.

Then you need to say so somewhere in your paragraph. That's how paragraphs work. When you don't specify, it becomes a blanket statement.

Sorry to break up the picturesque skylines with a gloomy gritty Detroit.

San Francisco is sui generis. It is simply, "The City".
