i like how they're clustered together. this type of regional planning to build clusters centered around major subway stations is reminicent of early Japanese urban planning.

the simple reason is taiwanese cities are based on what Japanese developed between 1895 to 1945.

they need more eyecatching architecture. those grey concrete twin towers are ugly. why can't they just clad everything in glass? it would look so much better.

I know what do you try to say!
The problem is Taiwanese people and weather.
They like this kind of style and also becasue the weather in Taiwan. It is hot and unusally very high humity. The cladding is not good way to build in such as a place like Taiwan. It will not comfort.

Market and weather are main force to enforce company build like this.
==========================================================

In my opinion, if you say official building, cladding is fine, but not for residential in this age.

One of the projects in 新板特區. The heights are between 130m to 150m.

I ask another same question in skyscrapers.tw
They say that more glazes will take more energy in place like Taiwan. It's not comfort for people to live.

For the desgin, it just impact by the market. The building companies are conservative.

OMG those towers look horrible! how come there are no windows on that? It looks like a prison or a US government building. Oh well, at least it will add to the shape of the skyline. hopefully more areas will be designated for redevelopment in Taipei...

The windows are covered with a protective tape.

looks pretty nice. but i think this area needs a couple of 200m+ towers to look like a mini shinguku.
