This plan has a lot of potential...just wish the warehouse was larger than 43,000 SF.

What is going up on the west side of West Ave at 7th St. This is the construction project just north of the Cirrus Logic building and garage. Is this additional office space for Cirrus, or is it a new apartment project?

On the bubble? Austin homes most overvalued in the U.S., analysis says

Oct 6, 2014, 11:14am CDT

Jan Buchholz
Staff Writer-
Austin Business Journal

Home values in Austin have been rising rapidly the past two years, and normally that’s a good thing. But real estate online mega-portal Trulia says the Austin market might be sitting on a bubble that could burst, driving prices down.

Trulia's most recent research, which tabulates fundamental values based on supply, demand and realistic expectations about the future, indicates that Austin is the most overvalued residential real estate market in the country — nearly 20 percent more than what it should be.

The link that Kevin provide for the Hotel Van Zandt construction update in that thread has a photo from inside the U/C SoCo Hotel (a.k.a. the slowest 3-story construction project ever). And they still have a long ways to go.

Here's some eye candy for the forumers that I haven't seen posted before (although I may have missed it). I was searching through CoStar for proposed developments and found the below project. It's called The Waterfront. I'm pretty sure this is just a concept - no plans to actually build it. It was probably created to stir investor interest and raise equity. CBRE is listed on the flyer as the leasing agent, but CBRE doesn't have this info anywhere on their website. STG is listed as the architect. I am curious how you do below grade parking next to a river. Expensively, is my guess, or with really good flood coverage. Source is www.costar.com but you need a subscription.

I'm all for it. Underground parking there wouldn't present an issue, even though it's next to a river.

That is the most amazing above ground parking structure I've ever seen.

Don't know if it's been mentioned:

Miller Blueprint is moving from downtown building. No one in the shops knew what the plans for , just speculated that the owners were selling.

Might just be putting it on the market. But that's another big slice of land. Over a 1/4 block.

That was the site of one of the elusive Novare towers. That whole block and the post office one east of it.

I believe this is in a CVC. So whatever might go there won't be very tall.

Wild ass speculation: Could be that they're selling out to IBC Bank and they'll use this portion as a the parking garage and pool/ammenities deck of the hotel they're looking to develop on the NW portion of the block?

Re: Miller Blue Print.
According to a manger there:
They are holding onto the property and looking to lease it. Not Sell at this time.
Seems as thought there are mulitple siblings involved and they don't agree on what to do with it.
I do know they only use half of the building for the buisness now, so downsizing the space makes sense. ( the upstairs is unused)

Of course, I will assume, like many I'm sure..... that if the right number was waived in thier collective faces they would sell!

RE Miller BP. The guy that works the register told me they are selling to IBC, and that IBC has plans to develop a hotel on that property.

I'd like to see that building kept on the property and at least used in whatever project they're planning. It's a unique little building.
