Here're some of the latest 6X shots that catch the BBVA lot or show a similar straight ahead view as the BBVA rendering.

You're right, Syndic. BBVA will be a lot less girthy than 6X.

If this, 6X, and The Republic get built and the post office lot gets a massive building, this area will become Austin's central "cluster" of high rises that you see in other cities' skylines.

Did the glass get darker on 6X? I'm lovin these new renderings. Looks like it'll be almost greenish-black from certain angles.

Don't forget the Masonic Lodge. I don't think the exact height is known for that yet.

Indeed Tower would be close to this cluster too.

If this cluster happens, I'd be willing to bet that the Lavaca Plaza, State of Texas garage, and the Hobby building wouldn't last much longer. Republic Square Park would be at the center of this cluster.

Very half-assed, but this probably a ballpark for scale

Also the half block that Ballet Austin sits on.

The parts of Downtown Austin closest to I-35 are beginning to look really underdeveloped now compared to the riverfront and interior sections of DT.

I made this a few months ago. Didn't point out this lot for BBVA, so it's an extra.

There's still that 1/4 block north of IBC that I remember being mentioned as a future site when IBC was being built.

Azul, good job with that rendering. Tower 5C will also be a major contributor to that cluster. It'll help fill in the gap between Indeed Tower and The Austonian. While I don't think any of those buildings are groundbreaking designs, I can see them all going well together and creating Austin's "big skyline" that we've been waiting for 3 decades to see.

And its the 5, 6, 7, 800+ foot clusters that will get us there. Standing alone, none of those towers would constitute "big skyline" and would stick out like a sore thumb being like you said, not exactly groundbreaking designs. But together, it will be quite impressive. I'm a little more forgiving of the designs I suppose. Maybe I'm blinded by the height and the fact they are happening. And I'm finding myself comfortably comparing Austin's current and future skyline to other city skylines I always envied and never thought we could match or exceed. It is time our skyline started to live up to the expectation from being the 11th largest city in the US, at least in my mind.

Heh, and the skyline of the 10th largest city in the US is currently building their tallest towers at.... 298'...
