I've always wondered why it takes so long for the mods to update these threads with height increases. The ICE thread and Aura thread for Toronto have sat partially updated for months after news of height increases. I should request that thread starters be allowed to update thread names in the future.

By the way that's a great looking tower Melborne! Very Slick!

Great looking tower, I like the curves. This should compliment the Melbourne skyline quite well.

can a mod update the thread title?

cheers.
Ok, I updated it. Let me know if anything changes.

update - hello beginnings of core box.

reason its taken sooooo long to get to this stage is the lovely ground that exists on the southern bank of the river and the extra "shit" that has to go into the ground

I imagine that close to the river, the soil has to have a relatively high water table, which would explain the slow going on foundation work.

yep. the area is notorious for having a lot of Hobson's Bay Silt - hence why most towers on Southbank have above-ground / podium car parking: just too expensive to reinforce everything under ground.

You only ever find deep excavations north of Bourke St in the CBD.
