She's just impatient for the groundbreaking...like the rest of us.

I'm looking forward to this one. It will be a very nice addition and looks so much better than the Hudson site. Although I did hear there was going to be an update at Hudson's, I hope they tweak the design a bit.

With the announcement that Bedrock's four projects have gotten the final piece of major funding they need, we get a new rendering of the residential tower at the northern end of this development:

The site as of late:

I always think of that line whenever someone mentions the xyz of abc! But seriously, good for Detroit if this project happens. It's a nice looking building.

Thank you for the response. For some reason this project has gotten my interest more than the others in Detroit. I'm looking forward to seeing them get started, and how they ultimately incorporate Albert Kahn's Theater facade into the design.

The former Wayne County Jail site or fail jail site is going to be used as a staging area for the monroe block project, demo work on the site has progressed to the main structure so hopefully soon we will start seeing things really get moving.

DetroitSky found some new angles and a few revised renderings for this one one the architect's website: http://www.shl.dk/monroe-blocks/

Is it correct that they finally got around to demolishing the two buildings on site?

Not sure how I missed this, but I just found the presentation Bedrock gave to the city almost a year ago. It gives the height of the other towers we hadn't seen:

b3 (residential tower Randolph & Monroe): 341 feet - 26 stories, 130 units
a2 (residential mid-rise at Farmer & Bates): 187 feet - 18 stories, 136 units
b1 (residential mid-rise at Bates & Farmer): 122 feet - 12 stories, 153 units
b2 (residential low-rise at Monroe & Farmer): 70 feet - 7 stories, 61 units

Of course, this is all liable to change, but this gives you an idea of what we're working with. The A's (Block A, Phase 1) start construction first, wth the B's (Block B, Phase 2) starting soon thereafter.

So Bedrock and Mindfield developed an app to view the Hudson's Tower and the Monroe Blocks to give an AR view of the projects. The app has been out since May but this is the first time a demo of it has been shown.
