Jagr is a Flame! should be interesting to have a 45 year old on such a young team. Should provide some fantastic leadership though!

They will sell enough jerseys to cover his salary by the end of the week.

This is a fantastic signing. Here's hoping his work ethic rubs off on some of the kids.

Ouch last night was painful to watch! What a spanking! McJesus really is the next Gretzky. He all but made Gaudreau and Monahan invisible. The one silver lining was that we got to see Smith is going to be a great goaltender.

Yes, the goal tending was actually pretty good. I think he was above a 93% save percentage. The much touted "strongest defense in the league" let 45 shots through.

Another positive is that the following contest I suppose remains open as no winner was declared. Yay!

The Flames need to come up with a way to play against him, he's too fast and will get around our D every time. We need to find a way to isolate him, keep the puck off his stick, cream every Oiler that touches the puck before McDavid can get it. Johnny and Mony started to up their game by the second half of the 3rd, but it was too late by then. We need to be more offensive against the Oilers, get them to come from behind, their D fold under pressure, but we didn't put any pressure on them, we were too scared of McDavid getting the puck.

The Flames always start slow though, last night was pretty typical of a season opener for them. We better cream Winnipeg Saturday though, Flames can't start on a losing streak again, we need to get home ice for the playoffs!

It's gonna be a tight season contending with the Oilers and the Douchebag Ducks.

I feel like the Ducks should start to fall back a bit this year, Perry and Getzlaf aren't what they used to be and I think last season was their last chance at a cup. I really want the Flames to break the damn curse Monday!

I think I'm going to have to start muting anything on Sportsnet that's not the Calgary Flames own crew (Hrudey et al) because the verbal fellating of McDavid last night was absolutely unbearable. They just wouldn't shut up about him for the entire bloody game.

Can you really blame them? McDavid is the real deal, we just hate it because he a Coiler. What's driving me nuts is everyone in the national media is already making it out as if the Oilers and Leafs are in the cup final.
