Post your gear thread!

So we obviously have some really talented photographers here on SSP. The eye for photography and control of your camera is of course the most important factor in producing some of these masterpieces but your gear also plays a role.

So what does everybody shoot with? What's your usual walking around kit and what do you store it in?

ok, I'll start.

Canon 50D
Canon 17-85mm IS 4-5.6
Canon 50mm 1.8
Canon 75-300mm 4-5.6
Sigma 10-20mm 4-5.6
Lensbaby 2.0

Canon Speedlight 430EX

Manfrotto 190XDB tripod with 804RC2 Head

Want: a wider angle prime, maybe 24mm, 28mm... undecided.

Don't have any photos online from this camera though.

Nikon D90
Tokina 12-24mm F/4
Nikon 50mm F/1.4
Velbon ULTRA LUX i F Tripod

I also use a Canon Powershot SD1100-IS when I'm really lazy.

I usually just carry my camera wrapped in some padding in my totally pretentious Timbuk2 Classic Messenger (small) bag. I had to have one when I found you could build your own. Waterproof lining and just the standard pockets inside. Love that thing. I've got a Tarmac System 3 camera bag for storing longer term, but the camera is pretty much used everyday.

I'd like a Nikon 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6G AF-S ED VR II, but probably not happening anytime soon.

Nikon D90
Nikon D50 (backup)

Nikon AF-S 16-85mm f/3-5-5.6G ED VR DX (walkaround lens)
Nikon AF-S 55-200mm f/4-5.6G ED IF DX VR (seldom used)
Nikon AF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G ED II DX (ghetto lens, for extreme weather and dangerous places)

Nikon AF-S 35mm f/1.8 G DX (indoors)
Nikon 50mm f/1.8 Ai-S (with reversing ring for macro)
Nikon 105mm f/2.5 Ai (my goto lens for telephoto and portraits)

Want: nothing really, maybe a decent tripod

Although the 16-85 is a great all purpose lens, I will never buy another lens slower than f/2.8

Olympus C-7070
WCON-07C wide angle converter
Metz 48 AF-1 flash
Manfrotto 190XPROB tripod + 486RC2 head
Slik Sprint GM tripod + head

I was thinking of getting an interchangeable lens camera, but I changed my mind. I need to improve my skillz before I can justify spending hundreds of dollars on equipment. I'll likely just get an IR filter in spring 2011 (do filters count as "gear"?). Maybe a new camera in 2012 or 2013.

Canon EOS 7D / EF-S 15-85 IS USM
Olympus E500 / ZD 18-180
Sony Cybershot DSC-HX5C

I don't like carrying around the bulk of a tripod, so I shoot handheld at night as much as possible - something both the Sony and (especially) the Canon are well capable of as long as the light isn't too low.

I'm in the market for a new camera after my XTi drowned in the San Diego Bay.

Not sure what I'll get at this point. Most likely I'll wait until I get my tax return in February.
