sw5710,

It's getting tricky with the floor count, simply because we cannot see the building in its entirety from the sidewalk level up to the current height. As the building has grown, I have to take "benchmarks" as it goes up, for example, using the 57 Street crane tie-in floors, then counting up from there. At present, I count 18 floors up from the current tie-in floor (the highest ties and collar were removed today). I am not counting the level that would exist when a floor is poured atop the current level of the exterior climbing forms.

If my diagram has been correct, the current highest tie-in is placed at the 27th actual (32nd apparent) floor.

Correct me if wrong.

I was using the 32nd apparent floor tie-in for the 57th Street crane to count up from. Then I started to use the 59th Street cam and the roof of the building behind and to the left of 432 and counted 432 floors to the top of that building. Then i just count the floors 432 is above that building and add them.

This Economic Indicator has a History of Calling Major Turns
Luxury real estate reaches new heights

By Bob Stokes
11 Mar 2014

Quote:
Previous economic periods show that an aggressive quest for luxury arrives late in the cycle.

Consider the Gilded Age of the late 1800s: Over-the-top spending in that era ran face-first into The Panic of 1893. Similar episodes have happened before and since. Porters and ladies' maids were splurging on their own carriages just before the bursting of the South Sea Bubble. And luxury spending went into high-gear during the 1920s, just before the Great Depression.

The August 2007 Elliott Wave Financial Forecast noted:

The boom in luxury goods is no secret. ... There are many signs that the latest binge is a final blow-off in luxury spending.

The stock market peaked two months later.

Now luxury real estate is reaching new heights. Imagine standing in your living room and being able to look down on the Empire State Building. Take a look at this excerpted USA Today diagram.

The February Elliott Wave Financial Forecast notes:

The New York City skyline remains impervious to bearish subtleties as new residential towers continue to poke higher and higher... The amazing breadth of the City’s latest tall-building boom [includes] eight separate residential towers either under construction or in the planning stage. In November, the flurry was topped off by the unveiling of the Nordstrom Tower, a 1,423-foot condominium that will be built in midtown Manhattan. If and when it is complete, it will surpass the current world’s-tallest residential building, the Princess Tower in Dubai.

Luxury residential development reaches beyond Manhattan, and the just-published March Financial Forecast updates you on where else the "skyscraper indicator" is flashing a warning.

Marcatio; Using this picture tectonic posted. The 57th Street cranes tie in points are. Actual floor.9,15,21,27,33,39 The actual perimeter beam count is 1 less because the 1st beam you count from is 15' 6'' above the ground or apparent floor 2

But 432 makes its presence known...

Nothing really new here...

Hi All,

We've got an updated timelapse. I've added music again - it's inspired by
a wonderful old Warner Bros cartoon called "Rhapsody in Rivets" (1941) - it's a hoot!

Hope you ENJOY.

Penthouse at 432 Park hits market for $75M

Quote:
Five new condominium units at 432 Park Avenue are up for sale. The apartments range from a two-bedroom listed for $16.4 million to a full-floor five-bedroom penthouse on the 87th floor asking a hefty $74.5 million.
Macklowe Properties and CIM Group officially brought Douglas Elliman Development Marketing on board to help with sales and marketing efforts last month, as The Real Deal reported. New renderings accompanying the listings show a breakfast bar counter and tub.
The other new units include a four-bedroom on the 80th floor asking $44.3 million, a 77th-floor three-bedroom asking $20.3 million and a three-bedroom on the 64th floor asking $30.8 million.

New York YIMBY:

Construction Update: 432 Park Avenue
BY: NIKOLAI FEDAK ON MARCH 14TH 2014 AT 11:00 AM

Quote:
The latest photos of 432 Park Avenue show the tower’s core about to breach the 800 foot mark; with 600 feet to go, the skyscraper is already making a significant impact on the skyline, and it’s difficult to imagine just how tall the building is going to be.

...Completion of the future 1,398-foot tower is expected in 2015.

Two things. The 57th Street crane continues to be lowered. Now the cab is below the 2 levels of glass windows as seen on the 59th Street cam. There is a 2nd level of exposed glass that has been added. Apparent level 37 and 38 or actual floors 32 and 33 This really darkens the building and makes the concrete stand out.
