they dont exist, thats propaganda the american government makes about other countries to make its own dumb citizens happy

look pal, why do you INSIST on seeing favelas pics on every fucking Rio thread????

when I see a NY thread, I dont insist to see pics of Bronx or poor neighborhoods. American cities all have poor areas, that are this close to becoming favelas. Ghettos. Etc. But people do not complain if threads about those cities dont show these areas. So stop doing that with Rio pics.

The city is HUGE, and there are MANY AREAS, not only favelas.

Oh, calm down. And sorry but favelas are much worse than US ghettos.

thats not reason to ask for favela pics all the time, if so few threads focus on US ghettos. It doesnt matter which one is worse, few people focus on the bad parts of their cities and FEW PEOPLE ASK FOR BAD AREAS OF US/CANADIAN CITIES, dont see why it should be different with Rio.

Well I don't see why you'd play the childish "US government propaganda" and "US Americans are stupid" card because some guy annoys you. Now THAT'S dumb.

Favelas have a lot of charcter and people are interested in seeing them. I think Brazilians have a far more negative impression of them (along with a severe complex about them) than foreigners do.

no, dumb is to say I am playing that card. The US government propaganda was obviously a JOKE. And have I said americans are stupid? Nope.

But I am really right when I say that people dont go around asking for pics of the bad parts of american/canadian/european (are you happy?) cities.

buy a ticket to Brazil and visit them. Or wait a thread about them.

But DO NOT spam threads which are not about them, asking for pictures of favelas!

they are ugly areas with poverty. Should we be proud about them?

are you proud about your ghettos?? HOW MANY americans are proud about their ghettos and show them here?? Not many. There are FEW threads here at SPP about american ghettos and bad areas.

As soon as I see lots of threads about american ghettos, I might think twice about taking pictures of brazilian favelas. Of course, as soon as I get permission from the local drug lord to take pictures inside his area.

Relax man. Nobody thinks favelas reflect the entire way of life for the diverse country of Brazil.

What's with all the red markings in the pictures?

Regarding the favelas, it probably didn't help that the title of this thread is sarcastic. The person that requested pictures of favelas probably thought that's what they were going to see, going by the title.

I certainly did.

How could we have known you were being sarcastic?

^i think the pictures were "found" in some real state site. Maybe the red markings mark the properties.

as for the title of the thread and favelas, I had not seen from this angle before. You are right.
