BNCFS Performing Arts Centre

I've already got World Capitol Project which is a city-scale project, and my model Walmart store which is based on a real-life building. What I want to do with this project is unique to my other two ongoing projects, as it going to be my first focus on designing a single very detailed fictional building.

That building is the BNCFS Performing Arts Centre, which will be designed and constructed on this 400' x 400' urban block on a hill:

BNCFS stands for the "British National Crown Federated Symphonies", which is a fictional confederation of British symphonic organizations that will eventually call this fictional building their home.

I like the block design, which will make it look interesting for the building itself.

You know what's weird though? With your world capital project, you do renders and what not so the images look clean and crisp. When I see those pictures, I think "theres no way I could do something like that" but when you post images of ingame sketchup, so it's, not rendered and you can see all the lines, it gives me a rush of inspiration so " I can do that because it looks exactly like my sketchup!"

^ I also look at some of the better work done by others - Pingyao comes to mind - and wonder how exactly they manage to do it. Skill with a hobby like this is just about doing it and sticking with it. There isn't anything that you see on this forum which you couldn't also accomplish.

We have a Subway line running beneath the building project, some beams, and a yellow barrier fence around the construction site just for the heck of it:

The main support, escalators, and an elevator shaft are now present for access to the Subway system.

Interesting to see how this will look when it's completed - what's the design going to be like. Are you going to model the whole construction phase?

It is my goal to design this building in roughly the same order as it might be constructed in real life.

Some of my ideas for this building are based upon the design of Benaroya Hall in Downtown Seattle.

Cool project, I love that your building this thing from scratch, I'll definitely keep track of its progress.

Major framework for levels 2 and 3 is in place.

The completed building will have two metro levels and three primary floors devoted to the performing arts center with a multistory high rise tower above them.

Your work looks very tedious but the results are great! I've never seen this type of modeling and I'm liking it. Keep it up

Right now the file is 6 MB. Compared to my other projects (World Capitol Project around 125 MB, Walmart model around 50) it remains quite small.

More primary framing for the auditorium and upper atrium levels was added. A square base for what will become the building's high-rise portion is now discernible:

The form of the auditorium and frame of the lower floors of the main tower are now visible.
