^ yes, this is the first choice correct answer for improving SI transit. perhaps there is a way to go east and north with that line over the verrazano bridge with it someday too, or by tunneling to brooklyn, as was proposed a few times, i dk.
along with that, i could also see another north-south SIR line built in SI. it couldn't go down victory blvd, maybe richmond? and it would probably have to go to the mall, but that's as far as i have ever thought about that. and outside of mta expanding from tottenville over or under the arthur kill into nj that's about it really for fantasy SI rail transit improvements.
