these new shots of new manchester got me thinking about ... not so long ago.

i know these guys are londony types, but still seems to fit -- ewan maccoll and the pogues:

I met my love by the gas works wall
Dreamed a dream by the old canal
I kissed my girl by the factory wall
Dirty old town
Dirty old town

The ones posted are January/February (pre covid). Will be working my way up to the covid days though.

Ewan MacColl was from Salford which is only about 4 miles away from Manchester city centre (below). His daughter Kirsty MacColl sang with the Pogues on Fairytale of New York.
