Wow...great shots....depressing as hell.

I lived in Brampton from 1989-1993 near Gage Park so your photos are familiar. I recall a great place for hamburgers (Sonny's) on Kennedy Road, a pub on the south side of Queen somewhere full of old scottish guys who mainly lived in Bramalea and a pub in the basement of the Brampton Mall where I watched a lot of the 1990 World Cup. As well, I gather the 'Shield and Sword' has turned into a Days Inn and my favourite fish and chips place near the Rose Theatre has been knocked down.

Thanks for the photo shoot.

Bleak.

Late winter and early spring has to be some of the worst times to take in the scenes of a certain place, especially when it's cloudy. The piles of dirty, melting snow can make any place depressing.

Nice set. Astonishingly depressing looking place though. The new building in the 1st photo looks 'ok' and the right hand side of Brampton Veterinary Clinic is nice but the other 44 photos? It's hard to find a square inch of it that looks nice. It's a whole other level of ugly.

I haven't eaten burritos in many years, I will have try again after this coronavirus thing over. I just thought it would be funny to make thread about Queen Street in Brampton after thread about Queen Street in Toronto, but I am not sure I ever thought about the burrito connection until you pointed it out in the other thread. I admit I don't think that deeply or far ahead.

On eastern boundary of Mississauga is Toronto, and on northern boundary is Brampton. I actually live near the boundary with Brampton but this is first time I have photographed it.

I try to contrast the two Queen Streets, but as bleak as these photos are, I hope you guys can see the immense potential of corridors like this too. Already you can see there are many transit riders and some new mixed-use, high-rise construction. It is already a corridor in transition, and maybe in 20 years I will photograph again and it will look completely different.

Mississauga has corridor like this too, Dundas Street East. In Toronto there are corridors like Queensway and Lawrence East. Toronto calls them the "The Avenues", corridors of constant, gradual change. These kind of places represent the future of our cities and really should devote our attention to them and not ignore them. You look at these pictures I think you can already get a glimpse of that future.
