The aquarium in Houston was basically built over the bones of the older Fire Station Number 1. I much preferred the fire station. The aquarium was developed by Tillman Fertitta, the owner of Landry's Corp, a restaurant company that began as a seafood restaurant on Galveston Bay between Houston and Galveston. you should have seen the old cleveland aquarium. also far from top tier. and as for it exterior, it had none. at least this new cle aquarium is in the beautiful, historic powerhouse, even if it isnt all that.

the old cle aquarium is best remembered because it had a giant tank right at the entrance with a huge fish with a massive, hairy wart on it its umm, chin.

it gave generations of us school field trip kids nightmares!

i am tempted to ditch my landry's card.

in fact i will with no problem.

landry's outlets are all souless, overpriced, sterile, corporate food product anyway.

back in the old food forum heydays of the 90s and oughties we used to call these 'in it only for the money' businesses like that the devil (and panera was satan incarnate).

so yeah, but ... after i collect my $25 birthday reward.
