I don’t think it would take too much work to redesign the top to be a dozen or so penthouses
That would be awesome. Would there be any stigma or fear leftover about living on Ground zero though? It would still be a potential terrorist target I would think.

We just have to wait. Think of it in binary sense; 1 = Fantastic, 0 = Rubbish.

So either " " or " "

I do think due to the competition, it will still be a trophy tower.

There is every chance the diamonds are ancient history.

I think that we’ll have a different design which has lots of outdoor terraces and setbacks. I’ll gladly take a version of 270 Park with even more setbacks for different tenants.

That would be cool. I could live with a change like that. A flat top with no setbacks of any kind will be a massive disappointment though. Let's hope they don't build another box.

That won't happen. This tower will be Larry's legacy. I expect something amazing.

It would be so cool to have something that echos 1 WTC architecturally. Like the Liberty Place Towers in Philly. Siblings rather than twins. 1 WTC actually sort of seems like a distilled Foster design.

That was back when 3WTC was 1150 feet

I have a fear they'll cut the height of Tower 2 to be in between 1 and 3. While I'm glad 2WTC may see the light of day in the near future I must say this whole development has been kinda disappointing over the years. 1WTC's horrid antenna doesn't help.

They definitely won't make it shorter than 3 WTC, it'll ruin the spiral effect all the buildings make

I know but to fit perfectly in-between it could be shorter than the last Foster design we saw (1350 to tip). Maybe not though, we'll see.

Hopefully after a decade and a half this tower finally materializes and turns out nice. There hasn't been another building that has preoccupied me more over the years than 2 WTC.

Definitely. Not only did this version of 1WTC have a legitimate spire but an architectural covering over the communication rings; something dropped even earlier on.

I just want the damn thing built and the complex to be completed. I could care less about diamonds at this point.

^^ Why do you even care that something is built there if you don't care what it is? Anyone could throw up a glass box and call it a day, it wouldn't mean anything relative to the rest of the site. What would a filler building mean to you?

The diamonds are in every way perfect for the complex, hope they're kept.

How much less could you care?

So the corner spires were added to building 3 when its height was cut? And then unceremoniously dumped.

IIRC weren't the spires on 3 there from the start?
