We will know tomorrow if she was legit or not. This is why I called it a rumor. I wish I could call it a fact, but I call em as I see em.

Good night boys.

Well, Adriana Cruz is female, and she would probably know more than just about anybody.

When I checked SSP today, I was saddened to see this thread so far down the page.

Maybe the large office tower in the Railyard development is related to this?

That crossed my mind. That would also mean we are about to hear some big pre-leasing news. But I don't think this is it. There was no announcement about the towers, some info just happened to be posted to a city website.

But given how Railyard brochure was really marketing a vertical urban campus with live/work component, then this filing seems to indicate something. And it may not be spec. Just like the Oracle process played out, they may have found someone. ~ 900K SF of office space is surely enough for an HQ or satellite HQ, with the types of tech company pay you’d expect to support that amount of rentals and condos. Basically if they build it, they will come approach with that coinciding residential building. Not everyone may want to live in such an integrated office/residential campus (even if vertical and not like Oracle) BUT tech people are used to this general idea. If a lot of employees are being relocated, having supply right next door to accommodate them makes sense. But if it fits with the rumors, will involve a lot of new hires too. Maybe this is Microsoft or Salesforce. This is a BIG development to build without some pre-leasing in mind. Although, I don’t think 6 X Guad has necessarily named any anchor tenant, but they could easily have one behind the scenes.

Friday is typically a news dump day. Doubt such a big announcement would be made today. Maybe the INFO is good, just timing slightly delayed.

Since nothing happened, could you tell us the rumor that you heard Urbancore or you think maybe it's still possible it will be announced..?

Shit. What do I know? I don’t see my source often. Clearly she was wrong, about timing. I just hope she wasn’t completely wrong. I give it a week and if nothing happens I’ll spill it. To be clear, I never said anything definitive. I was initially just trying to get corroboration.

I think something will be announced soon, timing can always be off with corporate announcements. At least that’s what I have experienced working for a large tech company.

Yeah, I was gonna say ... just because it didn’t happen this week doesn’t mean it isn’t gonna happen. Completely possible/probable that it’s still incoming.

Pretty sure I've seen this type of discussion in an obscured comedy about nothing.

NIMBYism at work. We can all fight back at each and every election. The few who value single-family zoning over Austin's needs don't seem to mind that such homes in the urban core are only affordable to the top ~20% of income earners.

We can allow greater number of homes and smaller homes, both of which are more sustainable, more affordable (all things equal) and help foster transit better than SF homes, but those who love exclusionary zoning will fight tooth and nail to prevent abundant housing policies.
