Thanks for posting this. This Gurudwara (Sikh temple) is one of the most beautiful in Canada.

It's a bit unfortunate it's about 2-3 minutes north of Edmonton on the highway. It was pretty much funded entirely by the Sikh community, and built via volunteer labour. Took about 15 years to complete in full, maybe even longer.

Great pics, folks, but man, does it look like a cold town! Is it true that Edmonton used to be bigger than Calgary? When and why the change? (Should I post this Q elsewhere?)

Great pics guys! Edmonton is the true capitol of the north (I always wished that canada has a sizable city in the territories, even Anchorage Alaska is around 200 000) but Edmonton is as close as we get!

You guys should post more of these pics in the Canada section, i am so tired of seeing Toronto!

We just had some wacky weather last weekend, but it's quite warm now. Compared to before. Edmonton did use to be bigger than Calgary, up until the 80s, Edmonton was the biggest city in Alberta. Part of it was the government to get more offices and attention in Calgary (like the oil companies), then a lot moved there, and their population grew a lot faster. Since then Calgary has been the large city. But only by 100,000-200,000.

Very nice shots as usual, Bulliver. Where are the shots with the tracks located? I've never seen those anywhere.

Ahh, ok. I thought it might be those, but for some reason I didn't recognize the buildings in the BG as being those on Sask Drive. D'oh.
