That is unbelievable to me, especially given what (I believe to be) the projected cost of living in this building. It just looks -- and is -- cheaper than the glass railings you'd find adorning 70 Rainey, Travis, Austonian, W, 5th & West, 44 East, or any of the other places you'd expect people to be cross-shopping with...

Not to mention that if the wind coming across these balconies is anything remotely comparable to what I get on my high-rise balcony, residents here will have a pretty hard time keeping anything on their balconies that isn't nailed down or made of concrete. These are fairly enclosed which undoubtedly helps, but I'm still hesitant.

Their definition of "topping out" must be different than mine.

Official topping outs are after the last floor is poured. It doesn't include crowns, mechanical screens or spires.

Not to mention the actual topping out beam is usually useless and just for show.

I haven't bothered to count the floors, but Modern Austin should be getting close to topping out too. That leaves the Republic for late this year (maybe very early '25?) and Waterline in the summer of '25.

I was wondering what all the festivities were about when I walked by Wednesday morning. They had the Belmont open with construction workers lounging, music playing. There was a bunch of hard hat people, some dressed in suits and a drone flying around along with some camera guys.

It is horrible. "What is the cheapest railing we can use?"-style.

As someone a bit scared of heights, I do prefer a nice sturdy metal railing to glass when I'm on a balcony that high up. But admittedly they aren't as pretty.

I didn't like it originally. But working downtown almost every single day, I've grown to appreciate how it's coming along next to 6xGuad. It's not a signature tower by any means. But it's a decent filler skyscraper.

Great Photo. Love having the Sail tower center in my photos as well. Even though I am not a fan of this ATX tower, I do love the height. The skyline has been risen with these tall infills.
